Waddell Project Completed August 2011

The Waddell project consisted of a handicap accessible bathroom, wheelchair ramp, interior renovatons and painting the exterior of a home of an eleven-year old. The project was completed by volunteers from Covenant United Methodist Church which is located in Greer, South Carolina. A team of 50 to 75 volunteers worked on the house over a 3 month period. Funding was made possible through individual contributions and the Greenville County Disability Needs Board.

DHGH chosen as recipient of “Community Partner Award” from Upstate Senior Network in July 2011

DHGH was named the “Community Partner” for the Upstate Senior Network for the 2011/12 year. This award is given annually to an organization working in the local community to improve the lives of seniors. Nominations for the award are made by Upstate Senior Network members and then voted on by the membership. DHGH also received a $1,000 check with the award. The Upstate Senior Network is a coalition of senior service industry professionals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of seniors. The Greenville Chapter of the Upstate Senior Network meets every third Wednesday of the month at Christ Episcopal Church (All Saints Building) beginning at Noon.
